INSARAG guidelines are now available in Russian

The Russian translation of the INSARAG guidelines has been prepared by the EMERCOM of Russia and is now available online.

INSARAG, the International Search and Rescue Advisory Group, is a network of some 80 countries under the United Nations umbrella and deals with urban search and rescue (USAR) issues. It was established in 1991, following an evaluation of the 1988 Armenia earthquake. The Field Coordination Support Section (FCSS) of the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) functions as INSARAG Secretariat. Any country with international urban search and rescue response capacity or countries that are prone to disasters, especially earthquakes, are welcome to join the network.

The INSARAG Guidelines have been prepared by USAR responders around the world to guide international USAR teams and disaster-prone countries to perform disaster response operations during major disasters. The Guidelines are a living document that will be improved and Incorporate the lessons learned and best practices identified in the evaluation of international disaster response operations. The INSARAG Guidelines have been endorsed in the UN General Assembly Resolution 75/150 of 16 December 2002.
